Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Abdulla Shahid has said the long-standing, traditionally strong relationship between the Maldives and India continues to flourish.
In his message of felicitation to Minister of External Affairs of India Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, on the occasion of the Independence Day of India, Foreign Minister Shahid said the recent exchanges of high level visits have immensely contributed towards the furtherance of the special relations that exist between our two countries.
‘’I am confident that as partners in development and good neighbours, the friendship between our two countries will continue to grow and we will continue to work together to ensure the safety and prosperity and for the mutual benefit of our two peoples,’’ the foreign minister said.
Minister Shahid further extended sincere and warmest congratulations, on the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day, to the people and the Government of India.
