Maldives Media Council (MMC) has decided to investigate claims that officers from Maldives Police Service obstructed cameramen working at local media stations.
Some journalists and cameramen have filed an issue at MMC, alleging police officers obstructed cameramen when former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor was summoned to Supreme Court.
Noting MMC is mandated to ensure a workable environment is available to journalists, it assured to look in to the claims. Further, MMC revealed a special committee has been formed to investigate the case.
