MMPRC launches a roadshow in South Korea

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched Journey to the Sunny Side Roadshow in Seoul and Busan, two prominent cities in South Korea.

The event, launched on August 8, marks the fourth event commenced in the series of Journey to the Sunny Side Roadshow planned by MMPRC to further promote Maldives in the global market. The two-city roadshow which is a joint promotional activity with Singapore Airlines targets the South Korean travel trade audience to maximize the Maldives brand exposure.

The event will be a platform for Maldivian tourism industry partners to feature products and network with the top travel trade industry partners of South Korea, according to MMPRC. Vakkaru Maldives, Splendid Asia, Hulhule’ Island Hotel, Eon Resorts, Villa Hotels and Resorts, Furaveri Island Resort, Bandos Maldives, Robinson Club Maldives and Orca Media Group are exhibiting in the event, to further strengthen the relationship with Korean tour operators.

The South Korean market has promising potential for Maldives. A total of the 34,400 tourists from the country visited Maldives in 2018. Statistics from January to June 2019 show, 17,358 tourists from South Korea arrived to Maldives; a growth of 9.1% compared to the same period of last year.
