MIRA records an income of USD 139 million in July

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has received an income of USD 139.8 million in July.

The amount received in July this year is an increase of 1.3 percent compared to the same period of last year, although it is recorded as a decrease of 1.3 percent from the projected amount, according to statistics.

MIRA attributed the increase in the income for the increased amount of Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST), Green Tax and Business Profit Tax (BPT) and attributed the decrease from the projected amount to the decrease in Goods and Services Tax (GST), Bank Profit Tax in July.

As per statistics, the highest amount of revenue in July was generated from BPT with USD 56.55 million while the second highest amount was received from GST with USD 33.056 million. Furthermore, USD 28.226 million was received as tourist rent and USD 4.356 million was received as Bank Profit Tax.
