Maldives launch 5G mobile data services

The national telecommunications company, Dhiraagu, has launched 5G mobile data services for the first time in Maldives.

The services was launched by CEO and Managing Director of Dhiraagu, Ismail Rasheed and Chairperson Ismail Waheed at a ceremony held at the Head Office of Dhiraagu.

The new services will be first provided to the 3 most populous areas in Maldives, including the islands of Male' Vilimale', Hulhumale' and certain areas in Hulhule', according to Dhiraagu. The other areas the services would be provided would be Kulhudhuffushi in Haa Dhaalu Atoll and Hithadhoo in Addu City.

Maldives is the first country which launched 5G mobile data services.
