Developing 4,000 beds in Addu city to begin soon

Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has revealed the administration has decided to develop 4-thousand beds in Addu City to enhance local tourism.

Addressing the ceremony held to launch the fifth Tourism Master Plan, Tourism Minister Ali Waheed said the 4,000 beds comes from the 8,000 beds pledged by the administration to be developed in the city. The minister noted the decision has been made to permit Addu City Council to develop the beds in the leased land plots.

The administration has plans to lease land plots from six islands in Addu City. The tourism minister said the aim is to enhance local tourism in the islands and make the sector beneficial for all citizens.
