The Maldivian Contingent of Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) has returned to Maldives.
Upon arrival to Velana International Airport (VIA) the contingent was received by Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi and senior officials from National Airline, Maldivian. However, the contingent was officially welcomed to Maldives by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, First Lady Fazna Ahmed, Vice President Faisal Naseem, former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed along with senior officials from government.
Furthermore, the IOIG flag was presented to President Ibrahim Mohamed. The IOIG 2023 will be held in Maldives.
