Maldives has been listed as one of the top destinations in the Asia-Pacific region travelled via private jets.
The most number of private jets travelled to Indonesia, Philippines and Maldives, according to a report published by Knight Frank. The reports noted the number of private jets to Asia Pacific increased more than 80%.
Furthermore, private jets flew to islands in the Americas almost 30,000 times, making them the world's top hub for non-commercial aviation, led by the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and the Cayman Islands, according to the report.
Knight Frank attributed the increase in private jets to the region to the increased number of billionaires in the region, while Bloomberg Billionaires Index stated Asia is now home to about a quarter of the people on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a ranking of the world's 500 richest people.
