Commissioner General of Customs Ahmed Numaan assures the staff recruitment process will not be influenced and priority will be given to educated and qualified individuals.
The commissioner general made the remarks in a tweet posted revealing 1,200 applications were received when an announcement was made seeking 22 customs officers. He gave assurance to the Maldivian youth that the hiring is based 100 percent on merits without any undue influences.
The 22 vacancies was announced to hire assistant customs officers, which pays USD 323 as salary and USD 13 per day as service allowance.
