Tourist arrivals from India have increased significantly in June, becoming the second country with the most number of arrivals in the month. 113,457 tourists arrived in Maldives from India which is an increase of 21 percent compared to June last year, according to statistics.
Meanwhile, the total number of tourist arrivals so far this year amounts to 162,589 which is an increase of 18 percent compared to the first six months of last year. The statistics showed that most number of tourist arrivals to Maldives were from China, India, Italy, Germany and the UK.
Speaking to the media, Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed said several promotional activities will be held in India this year.
