Vice President holds discussions to strengthen state-run care facilities

Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with representatives from the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services and other relevant public institutions to discuss options to optimise the quality of state-run care facilities.

Senior Officials from children's home at Villimale' and Hulhumale’ and the Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo attended the meeting held at the President's Office. At the meeting, the vice president enquired to the current status of these facilities as well as the obstacles faced and plans for improving the operations and wellness standards of the facilities.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Naseem emphasised the importance conferred by this administration to the safety and well-being of wards at state-run care facilities and the value of conducting educational programmes and life skill training such as learning to swim. He also discussed the importance of improving the medical facilities being provided to patients requiring long-term care with the attendants of the meeting.
