Proper healthcare services would be provided even by amending policies: Vice President

Vice President Faisal Naseem has assured the administration would provide proper healthcare services to the citizens, even if it means amending the policies that are currently followed.

Speaking at a felicitation ceremony for elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis held in Maldives, Vice President Naseem noted some citizens in certain islands in the country face difficulties in attaining healthcare, adding the administration is open to amend the policies to provide inclusive healthcare services to all citizens. He called on all policy makers to ensure policies do not obstruct any citizen from attaining healthcare services in Maldives.

Furthermore, the vice president mentioned the authorities must not think only Maldivians attain healthcare from the country, adding the services provided in Maldives must be further enhanced. He noted Maldives have made huge strides in developing the health sector.
