President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed the administration would work to further develop Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
Visiting the facility as part of his visit to Thinadhoo, President Solih said he had noticed there are areas in the hospital immediate solutions are needed, adding more services should be introduced from the hospital. The president said the administration would ensure quality services are provided to the residents of the island.
Highlighting the administration is planning to develop 5 tertiary hospitals by the end of the year, the president noted Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital is included in the first phase of the initiation. He added the human resource in the hospital will be developed in addition to the introduction of more equipment.
Furthermore, the president also toured the powerhouse, waste management centre and the ice plant managed by Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO). He met with the employees of the institutions and observed the current situation of the establishments.
