A team from Presidential Commission on Investigation of Murders and Enforced Disappearances travels to Fuvahmulah City to gather information and investigate the disappearance of Mohamed Shafeeu.
The 42-year-old was last seen going out of his home in the evening of July 14, 2013. Residents from Fuvahmulah and the police based in the city conducted a search for him without any results.
On Twitter, Presidential Commission on Investigation of Murders and Enforced Disappearances revealed an investigative team is now in Fuvahmulah City to gather information regarding the disappearance of Mohamed Shafeeu.
The Commission on Investigation of Murders and Enforced Disappearances was convened by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on his first day in office, November 17, 2018.
President Solih established the commission in an effort to uphold the state's responsibilities in ensuring justice for all, by conducting independent enquiries into unresolved cases of murders and enforced disappearances that had occurred between January 1, 2012 and November 17, 2018.
