Ministry of Islamic Affairs has revealed 500 from the additional quota have been given to Maldives Hajj Corporation Limited (MHCL).
After granting an initial 1,000 slots for Maldives, the Government of Saudi Arabia granted an additional slots, which was announced by President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih last Thursday. The remaining 500 slots were distributed to the government approved Hajj groups, according to the ministry.
From the initial 1,000 slots, the ministry has reserved 80 slots. The ministry has also revealed 45 individuals who could not perform Hajj after a private party failed to take them to Saudi Arabia some 6 years ago will also be travelling under MHCL this year.
