Mabrook handed a political post at President's Office

Mohamed Mabrook Azeez has been appointed as the Communications Undersecretary at President’s Office.

Mabrook ran for Felidhoo Constituency in the last parliamentary elections held on April 7 on a ticket from Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), the main ruling party. He lost the election to former Managing Director of Male’ Water and Sewerage Company Fazul Rasheed, who ran from People’s National Congress (PNC).

Speaking at a press conference held at the President’s Office last Thursday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said political appointees by the current administration would be less compared to previous administrations. In this regard, he expressed there are 337 political appointees in his administration, while there were 465 political appointees in the previous administration.
