Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure has contracted Mohan Mutha Export Private Limited to establish a fresh water system in Alifushi in Raa Atoll.
At a ceremony held at Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure, the agreement was signed by Director General at the ministry Shaana Farooq and Project Manager of Mohan Mutha Export K. R Saji. Mohan Mutha Export is to complete the project within two years at a cost of USD 1.032 million.
The project will see the design of the fresh water system in Alifushi, laying down the fresh water network, and installation of a reverse osmosis plant and storage tank. Further, water pipes would be connected to the households in the island as part of the agreement.
The planning ministry has launched 36 projects this year, including 11 projects to develop fresh water and sewerage facilities, 3 projects to develop fresh water facilities, 1 project to develop sewerage facilities, 7 road development projects and 14 harbour development projects. The projects are worth over USD 71 million.
