School principals ask Vice President Faisal Naseem to revise and bring a significant change to their salaries and allowances. The request was made by the principals during a meeting held at the President's Office with officials from Ministry of Education and Vice President Naseem.
At the meeting, the principals expressed their concerns and ways to further enhance the school system. In this regard, the principals stated schools require more resources to meet the needs and expectations of students, and pressed for certain administrative and structural reforms that would positively affect daily functions. Further, they requested they take into account some of the difficulties being experienced with teachers and education officials in terms of getting access to housing loans and schemes.
The vice president expressed his gratitude for the hard work being done by all involved in the education sector, noting their essential role in raising a new generation of Maldivian citizens capable of positively contributing to the country’s well-being. He noted he would do his utmost to expediently and effectively resolve all the issues raised.
In turn, Vice-President Naseem asked all principals to take the concerns and priorities of students, parents and teachers into account while fulfilling their responsibilities.
