Member of Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) Hassan Nabaah has submitted his resignation. He was appointed to the position on April 5, 2016.
Previously, Ismail Sofwan, who had filled the vice president position of the commission, had also submitted his resignation. His resignation came in the wake of Parliamentary Committee on Independent Institutions passing to submit a motion to remove him from MBC. He resigned after staying abroad for several months and failing to show up for work.
The parliamentary committee has also passed to submit a motion to remove another member, Fathimath Zeyna, from the commission.
MBC is comprised of 7 members but is currently 2 members short with the resignation of Nabaah and Sofwan.
