Environment Minister attends Abu Dhabi Climate Meeting

Minister of Environment Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan has attended Abu Dhabi Climate Meeting. The environment minister is accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen.

The two-day meeting is expected to set up the agenda for the United Nations Climate Action Summit to be held in New York scheduled for September, where world leaders will gather to bring bold actions and much greater ambitions on climate action.

For low-lying countries such as Maldives, the impacts of global warming and climate change is a matter of survival. Maldives advocate for strong and sustainable actions against impacts of climate change.

More than 1,000 delegates are attending the climate meeting with topics under discussion including threats to human health and the economic benefits of tackling the issue.
