Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to investigate the reasons behind delays in the conclusion of cases pending in courts of law.
Addressing a press conference, Director Hassan Zaheen said JSC has been receiving complaints about cases being piled up in courts of law, without being concluded. Therefore, Zaheen said the commission has decided to look into the matter. He added the commission has decided to take disciplinary action against judges, if it is revealed the cases are being delayed due to the negligence of the judges. He said JSC has decided to look into cases pending at the Criminal Court first.
At Wednesday's meeting, the commission formulated a special committee to look into the cases pending at courts of law.
JSC has also decided to look into cases regarding the Criminal Court Judge Hassan Najeeb and Civil Court Judge Hassan Faheem.
