Former VP of MBC resigns resigns from the commission

Ismail Sofwan has resigned as a member of Maldives Broadcasting Commission. His resignation came at a time when parliament is gearing up to take a no confidence vote against him.

Sofwan was appointed to the commission during the presidency of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. However, he had not continued his duties when the presidency changed last November. He was the vice president of the commission but was recently removed from the position.

President of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Hassan Luthufee has submitted his resignation at a time when the parliament is making preparations to take a no-confidence vote against him.
