Policies formulated must be acceptable by youth: Defence Minister

Minister of Defence Mariyam Ahmed Didi has stated the regulations and policies formulated now must be acceptable by the youth generation heading to run ministries and organisations in the future.

The defence minister made the remarks while addressing the closing ceremony of second programme of Defence Doctrine and Reform Initiative (DDRI), aimed to enhance operational scope and administrative works and to familiarise officers for the changing world.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Minister Mariya said the policies and regulations formulated must be acceptable by the youth as they are the future generation which will head the country for further heights. She noted it is important to include suggestions and recommendations from the youth, when formulating regulations and policies.

Meanwhile, Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamal highlighted the importance given by the administration to strengthen the security forces.

The discussion meeting of the practicum of DDRI were held from June 17-23.
