President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has ratified the Bill on Presidential Commissions.
The bill was approved by the Parliament on June 19. Ratification of the bill empowers Presidential Commission on Deaths and Disappearances and Presidential Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery.
As per the ratified bill, the two commissions now have the authority to summon and gather official statements from persons of interest and to request search and arrest warrants.
