Vice President Faisal Naseem has highlighted the importance of exposing youth to different talents rather than working in a job for salary. The vice president made the remarks at the ceremony held to inaugurate the skills show organised for students and youth.
Addressing the event organised by Ministry of Higher Education to familiarise students and youth to the job market, the vice president said in recent times islands are branded for certain talents, expressing the tradition is not seen now. In this regard, he stated Maldivian ancestors were famous for their talents and uniqueness, adding the importance given for skill and talent development has decreased now. Vice President Naseem noted foreigners taking over the local production will demean the economy and development of the country. Speaking in this regard, he appealed to learn new talents and skills.
Furthermore, the vice president said the administration plans to familiarise and expose children to various talents and skills within the education system, underlining the vitality of an inclusive education system rather than getting good grades. Highlighting youth are the future of the country, he expressed the number of expatriates have increased to a worrisome level. He noted the urgency to change the situation.
