Tourist arrivals in May have increased 10.9% corresponding to the same period of last year. 103,022 tourists arrived in Maldives last month, according to statistics.
The total amount of tourist arrivals in the first five months of the year is recorded at 749,114 which is an increase of 18.4% compared to the same period of last year.
The highest number of tourist arrivals in May was from Europe, which is 52.9% of the total tourist arrivals in Maldives. The second highest number of tourist arrivals was seen from Asia Pacific contributing to 38.4% of the total arrivals.
Meanwhile, from separate markets, most number of arrivals were recorded from China and Italy with 15.5% and 9.5% respectively.
