President appoints Ambassadors to Saudi Arabia and China

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed ambassadors to Saudi Arabia and China.

At a ceremony held at President’s Office, the president presented the letter of appointment to Mohamed Khaleel, as the Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Aishath Azeema, as the Ambassador to China.

Mohamed Khaleel has previously filled the position of High Commissioner from Maldives to Singapore. Khaleel has served at different levels of the government since 1983. He had completed a Diploma on Environmental Law and Policy from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India.

Aishath Azeema has filled the position of Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of Maldives in London, in addition to filling the positions of Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives. Azeema has served at different levels of the government since 1988. She has completed various training programmes from Maldives and abroad.
