President Solih presents highest Maldivian order of distinction to Prime Minister Modi

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has presented Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, with the Order of the distinguished rule of Izzudeen, the highest honour for a foreign dignitary.

The honour was conferred in recognition of the many services of Prime Minister Modi to cement the longstanding, amicable ties between two countries, and for the magnanimous assistance that the Indian government has continued to provide the Maldives under Prime Minister Modi’s stewardship.

The ceremony for the event was held at the President’s office, as part of the Prime Minister’s state visit. The ceremony was attended by cabinet ministers and senior government officials.

The bilateral ties between Maldives and India have improved with the inauguration of President Solih to office in 2018.
