Sri Lanka request Residence Visa applicants to undergo necessary health screening

Government of Sri Lanka have requested All Residence Visa applicants to undergo necessary health screening before applying for residence visa.

In a notice, Department of Immigration and Emigration urged to undergo a health protection plan introduced by Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine before submitting residence visa application, effective from June 3. However, applicants with diplomatic passports and their dependents, attached to UN agencies and their dependents as recommended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attached to USAID, KOICA, JAICA, US Peace Corps and their dependents, attached to government ministries, departments, agencies and projects and their dependents or are employed as consultants in government to government projects are exempted from the above the plan.

Effective of May 15, the Sri Lankan Government has changed visa regulations. Following the changes, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed the residence visa will now be attained from the Sri Lankan Embassy in the respective countries.
