Vice President of Maldives Faisal Naseem has inaugurated Road Safety Campaign. The campaign is an initiative of Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment.
The social media event was initiated to create awareness among the public on road safety. The event was participated by 20 companies and went on concurrently at 9 locations in Male', and 2 locations in Hulhumale'.
Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the event, Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof noted although certain changes are seen in road safety, there are still more to do to solve traffic issues.
The campaign’s major focus is on speeding issues and accidents caused by speeding.
