Most of the expenditure on administration of the state

Statistics released from Ministry of Finance has shown most of the expenditure has been on the administration of the state.

The state has received USD 552 million by May 16, according to the statistics. The state received over USD 415 million as tax. The statistics showed 79 percent of the revenue was spent on the administration of the state, including salaries, allowances and pension.

Furthermore, the state has spent USD 104 million on various development projects, including USD 46 million spent on projected initiated under Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP).

The USD 415 million received as tax include USD 207.8 million received as Goods and Services Tax (GST), USD 78 million received as Business Profit Tax (BPT) and another USD 78 million received as Import Duty. The state also received USD 22 million as Green Tax and USD 19 million as Airport Service Charge.

Moreover, the state received USD 19 million as Airport Development Fee and USD 30 million as resort rent.
