Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has fined Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) following expenses against Political Party Act. In this regard, ECM has raised a fine of USD 1,299 against PPM.
Spokesperson and Member of ECM Ahmed Akram said it has been identified from the audit report of PPM there were some illegal expenses. He revealed individuals who maintained finances were also fined with 324.76 US dollars.
Moreover, Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) and Adhaalath Party (AP) were also fined with USD 3,247 over the failure to submit audit reports within the deadline.
