Tourist arrivals from Middle East has showed an increase of 17%. Most number of arrivals from Middle East was recorded from Saudi Arabia, according to statistics of Ministry of Tourism.
By April, the amount of Middle Eastern arrivals increased to 19,253, which is 3% of the total arrivals.
Further, statistics showed in April 16,497 tourists visited to Maldives. In this regard, 6,443 arrivals were from Middle East, which is a 40% increase compared to April last year.
Moreover, statistics showed most number of visits from Middle East were from Saudi Arabia with 7,492 tourist arrivals. Second most number of arrivals were from UAE with 3,163 arrivals.
