Efforts underway to solve issued faced by IGMH: Health Minister

Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen has stated efforts will be exerted to solve issued faced by Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), although the health ministry does not hold any direct operational roles.

Speaking to media, Health Minister Ameen said the ministry has been notified of the numerous complaints regarding IGMH, highlighting there are many issues to solve. Health minister noted the hospital is not equipped with enough beds to meet the increasing capacity with the newly built 25-storey building.

Revealing many complaints have been received regarding the hospital, the minister said efforts to solve the problems are exerted by IGMH board and President's Office. In this regard, he said Minister at President's Office Ali Shiyam is tasked with solving the issues of IGMH.

Speaking at the press conference, Health Minister Ameen widely criticised the policies of the previous administration over the current failures faced in the health sector.
