Ministry of Tourism has decided to install water safety boards on beaches of islands and employ lifeguards, in order to ensure the safety of tourists. With the expansion of tourism in inhabited islands, Ministry of Tourism has planned various measures to ensure the safety of tourists.
Speaking about these measures, Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed said practical work to this effect will commence next month and lifeguards would be deployed by June or July.
Safety instruction boards shall be installed in areas which boast the largest number of beds, according to the ministry. Thus, the ministry plans to begin installation of safety instruction boards by the installation of such boards in Hulhumale'.
Dhiffushi in Kaafu Atoll is to be the trial island for the project.
