Inter-ministerial delegation concludes visits to Colombo and New Delhi

An inter-ministerial delegation has concluded visits to Colombo, Sri Lanka and New Delhi, India from May 10-13, after holding briefing sessions for ambassadors, representatives of multilateral agencies and other officials from the diplomatic corps that are accredited to Maldives based in Colombo and New Delhi, on the key developmental priorities of the government, and the arrangements that are underway for the upcoming Maldives Partnership Forum which is due to be held from June 17-18. The delegation was led by Ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Asim Ahmed.

The Maldives Partnership Forum 2019 to be held on Investing in a Resilient and Sustainable Maldives, will be the first forum since 2009 Maldives has organised and invited its key bilateral, multilateral and development partners to discuss and deliberate on the direction of the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and its key priorities. Details of upcoming projects that relate to the fulfilment of the government’s vision, as well as projects relating to the blue economy, social outcomes including healthcare, education and housing, and governance and Justice Sector Reform was shared with attendees.

During the sessions, the delegation responded to queries about the development agenda of the government and administrative arrangements of the forum.
