Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has concluded an official visit to Laamu Atoll.
During the visit from May 9-11, tourism minister inquired the challenges faced in developing local tourism from the Laamu Atoll Council and island councils. The aim of the trips is to seek suggestions for service providers and councils which might be of use to the local tourism policy in progress.
During the visit of tourism minister to the islands of the atoll, the minister met with tourism stakeholders of the islands and businesses engaged in the sector. Moreover, he visited and toured Baresdhoo which is developed as a guesthouse island.
The tourism minister was accompanied by Managing Director of Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation (MITDC) Mohamed Raaid and officials from both MITDC and tourism ministry.
