Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services Shidhatha Shareef has called on the society to work together to empower children.
In the address delivered commemorating the International Children’s' Day, Gender Minister Shidhatha said the administration prioritises implementing the laws and policies related to children. Noting several initiations are embarked to empower children, Minister Shidhatha stated it is important to seek suggestions from children when implementing relevant laws. She expressed efforts will be exerted to conduct age appropriate awareness programmes for children.
Speaking in this regard, the gender minister said the support and cooperation of the whole society is crucial to succeed. She called on to ensure the children are told about their importance and participation in the society.
