Dutch company contracted to develop floating islands in Maldives

Ministry of Tourism has signed with a Dutch company to develop floating islands in Maldives, to prepare for climate change impacts.

The agreement was signed by Minister of State for Tourism Dr. Ahmed Solih and CEO of Dutch Docklands Paul Van de Camp. Tourism ministry revealed further details of the project will be disclosed in the upcoming week.

The floating islands are part of a joint project that many hope will be the solution to the impending environmental crisis the islands could face over the next 50 years.
