Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has arrived in Laamu Atoll as part of the series of trips to islands to enhance local tourism. During the three-day trip, minister will visit Gan, Fonadhoo, Kahdhoo and Baresdhoo in Laamu Atoll.
During the visit to islands, Minister Ali Waheed will hold discussions with island councils, atoll councils, city councils and businesses to inquire about the challenges faced in enhancing local tourism in inhabited islands. The aim of the trips is to seek suggestions for service providers and councils which might be of use to the local tourism policy in progress.
The tourism minister is accompanied by Managing Director of Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation (MITDC) Mohamed Raaid and officials from both MITDC and tourism ministry.
