Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has revealed only three political parties submitted the audit report 2018.
In a tweet, President of ECM Ahmed Shareef highlighted, according to constitution, political parties must submit their audit reports before May 9. He noted while only one day is left to submit the reports, only 3 parties submitted the reports so far.
While 6 political parties must submit the audit reports, the reports were submitted by main ruling party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Jumhooree Party (JP) and Maldives Development Alliance (MDA). Meanwhile, Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), Adhaalath Party (AP) and Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) are yet to submit the audit reports.
Political parties who failed to submit audit reports will face a fine, according to Political Parties Act.
