Police Commissioner to attend a counter-terrorism meeting in UK

Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has departed to the UK, as part of a multi-agency delegation to attend a counter-terrorism meeting.

The aim of the meeting is to test Maldives' response and handling capabilities in countering terrorism. During the meeting, discussions will be held to counter-terrorism and ensure public protection though a joint exercise.

In a tweet, Police Commissioner Hameed said the trip to the UK is made as part of a multi-agency delegation to engage with international counterparts and to seek enhancement to national capabilities.

The police commissioner is accompanied by representatives from Ministry of Health and Ministry of Tourism.
