Maldives have launched the first edition of Al-Juzr, aimed to promote Maldivian tourism industry in Middle East.
The first edition of the publication was launched by Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Thayyib Mohamed at the Arabian Travel Market held in Dubai from April 28 to May 1, 2019. Published by a local tourism company, Comfort Travel and Tours Private Limited, the magazine aims to provide information on Maldivian travel agencies and resorts.
Addressing the function held to launch the magazine, Director of Sales and Marketing of Comfort Travel and Tours Private Limited Ibrahim Hulail stated this is the first ever magazine aimed for the Arabian market.
According to the company, it took about a year to create the magazine and appreciated the efforts from stakeholders and private entities. Meanwhile, addressing the ceremony held to launch the new travel magazine aimed at marketing the tourism industry in Middle East Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed has highlighted the importance of issuing an Arab language magazine on the tourism of Maldives.
Speaking to the press, Tourism Minister Ali Waheed said the magazine is an important milestone in achieving the goal of increasing diversity in the tourism industry. Highlighting it is the first Maldivian magazine in Arabic language, the minister assured, the government will cooperate and assist the magazine to make it a success.
Middle East is an important market in the tourism of Maldives. In 2018, over 52,000 tourists visited Maldives from Middle East.
