President of People’s National Congress (PNC) Abdul Raheem Abdulla has said the party will have a strong foothold in the political arena of the country.
Addressing the congress of PNC, Abdul Raheem Abdulla said the party was formed with contribution from the most successful politicians ever seen in the history of Maldives. Noting PNC does not belong to him or the deputy leaders of the party, Abdul Raheem said the party and its ideology solely belongs to former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Abdul Raheem, who lost the run for parliamentary seat, stated defeat in an election does not mean the candidate must move out from the political arena. He expressed every individual is welcome to join the party.
