Interpol issues red notice on Managing Director of Sea Life Global

Interpol has issued a red notice on Managing Director of Sea Life Global Inc Private Limited Ahmed Moosa Mohamed over cases of theft and fraud. The red notice was issued following a request from Maldives Police Service. Maldives police has been searching for Moosa Ahmed Mohamed concerning a housing scam.

While Interpol issued a red notice, Maldivian authorities began investigating Sea Life Global since last November. Victims of the housing scam have come forward against Sea Life Global for taking down payments and failing to construct the housing units, according to the police.

Three years ago, Sea Life Global announced the project to construct 3,000 apartments in Hulhumale'. Several individuals have paid more than USD 1,600 as down payment to purchase the apartments from the first phase of the project.

Failing to receive the apartments an year after the payments were made, some tenants have filed a case at Civil Court of Maldives. Furthermore, Anti-Corruption Commission of Maldives (ACC) is also investigating a case against Sea Life Global.
