Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has inaugurated a special programme to promote greenery in Hoarafushi Airport.
Speaking regarding the programme, President of Hoarafushi Council Mohamed Waheed said the project aims to promote greenery in the surrounding areas of the airport. 10,000 trees will be planted as part of the project, according to the council. Hoarafushi Island Council, citizens and government authorities will work together in the project.
The airport development project in Hoarafushi commenced on March 31.
