Home Minister urges citizens to cooperate with police

Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has urged citizens to cooperate with Maldives Police Service. The home minister made the remarks at the ceremony held to launch police services in Maaen'boodhoo in Dhaalu Atoll.

Addressing the ceremony, Home Minister Imran said Maldives Police Service works for the betterment of the society, adding the institution is mandated to protect and serve the nation. The minister stated since police personnel have to work closely with the citizens, the cooperation of the society are imperative. In addition, lauding the inauguration of the police service in Maaen'boodhoo, the minister expressed establishing a service desk in the island is a good foundation.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed noted the police force will work within the action plan underway to further enhance its service. He said a police desk inaugurated in the island shows the service is being developed to all parts of the country.
