Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer has participated in the World Bank / IMF Spring Meetings 2019, held from April 10 -15 in Washington DC.
As part of these meetings, Minister Ameer attended the Ministerial Dialogue of Vulnerable Twenty Group (V20), where he delivered a statement. In this statement, the minister reiterated the need for more grants to finance the adaptation measures of Vulnerable Countries. At the WBG Meetings, vulnerable countries and international partner also announced collaboration to climate proof economic growth and adaptation measures.
Meetings 2019 was also attended by the Governor of MMA Ahmed Naseer and Chief Financial Budget Executive Ahmed Saruvash.
On the side-lines of the meeting, Minister Ameer and Governor Naseer met with Deputy Managing Director of IMF Tao Zhang, WB Executive Director of Maldives constituency Merza Hassan and called on the Vice President of the World Bank Hartwig Schafer, IFC VP Nena Stoiljkovic and their team working for Maldives projects during the Spring Meeting of the WB/ IMF.
Minister Ameer and the delegation have now arrived to Maldives.
