Former President Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has congratulated all the candidates who won in the parliamentary election.
In a tweet, Former President Waheed especially congratulated President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, former President Mohamed Nasheed and the main ruling party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) for winning a landslide victory in the parliamentary election.
Initial results show MDP has secured 67 out of the 87 seats in parliament, the highest any party has won since Maldives adopted a democratic multiparty system in 2008.
