Maldives Police Service has launched a web portal to report human trafficking cases. The web portal established with assistance from International Organisation for Migration (IMO) will ease reporting human traffic cases via internet, according to the police.
The police revealed the portal have been in use since March and the portal would help to accelerate the investigation of trafficking complaints lodged across Maldives. The police noted the aim of the portal is to increase the priority given by the authority to investigate such cases.
Moreover, police have arranged means for users to file complaints with all embassies through the web portal in efforts to ease the language barrier.
